'We chose Casale Vorno because of its' excellent location - placing guests just 10 minutes from Lucca and only 2 km from the village of Vorno, while the coast is within 30 minutes and Florence can be reached in around an hour—making it an ideal base for exploring the region. The villa’s swimming pool is a true highlight: exceptionally large, beautifully positioned with views of the surrounding hillsides, and bordered by a generous, flat lawned area perfect for relaxing or for families to enjoy. As this is the first review of this property, I'll lead with the most important info: it's real and it's spectacular. Samuele and his family are wonderful hosts, the house is beautiful, spacious and comfortable, the pool is delightful, and the location is great. The villa is a family affair with Samuele or one of his daughters on hand to help out if needed. The house has five large bedrooms each with its own bathroom and two more rooms in the cottage across the courtyard. Everything combines rustic Tuscan charm with actual comfort. The pool set up is great with a nice shaded table next to each for lunch or aperitivi. The housekeeper Ilaria is available to cook delicious Lucchese food (I highly recommend). The village of Vorno is a few minutes away (where there is a fantastic restaurant), and you have easy access to Lucca, the coast, Pisa etc. You can be drinking a spritz in the centre of Lucca within 10 minutes of leaving the house. My only "warnings": - a car is highly recommended. Although the villa is very well-situated, even the village is a ten minute walk away. With a car, the whole area feels every accessible and easy. - keep an eye on your kids in the pool since much of it is deep. (there is a shallow end which our six year old could stand up in).
