From the Renaissance treasures of Florence and Siena to the vineyards of Chianti, the golden hills of Val d'Orcia and the beautiful Tuscan coastline, every corner of the region offers something unique.

Whether you're searching for a luxury villa, a wellbeing retreat, a food and wine adventure or an authentic Italian escape, our destination guide will help you discover the Tuscany we know and love.

Lucca & The Tuscan coast

Timeless Charm Meets Coastal Elegance

A place close to our hearts, Lucca has been at the centre of our Tuscany story since 1973. Encircled by beautifully preserved Renaissance walls, the city is renowned for its elegant piazzas, independent boutiques and exceptional restaurants.

Our connection to the region began when Barry and Christine Pearson started renting villas in nearby Pietrasanta, on Tuscany's beautiful Versilia coast. As a family, we spent our summers here, exploring the beaches, villages and countryside that continue to draw us back year after year.

Today, Lucca and the Tuscan Coast remain among our favourite parts of Tuscany, combining authentic Italian charm, relaxed coastal living and some of the region's most beautiful villas and experiences.

What to see: Cycle along Lucca's Renaissance walls, wander its elegant piazzas and discover the charming coastal towns of Pietrasanta and Forte dei Marmi. The Versilia coastline offers beautiful beaches and a relaxed Mediterranean lifestyle.

What to Eat: Tordelli Lucchesi, fresh seafood, focaccia and traditional Tuscan antipasti.

What to Drink: Vermentino from the Tuscan coast, local craft beers and refreshing aperitivi enjoyed by the sea.

Florence & Chianti

Renaissance Treasures & World-Class Wine

Home to some of Italy's greatest artistic and cultural treasures, Florence captivates visitors with its magnificent architecture, world-renowned museums and vibrant atmosphere. Beyond the city, the rolling hills of Chianti reveal a landscape of vineyards, olive groves and charming villages, where food, wine and authentic Tuscan hospitality take centre stage. Together, Florence and Chianti offer the perfect balance of culture, countryside and culinary discovery.

What to see: Florence's magnificent Duomo, the Ponte Vecchio, the Uffizi Gallery and the rolling vineyards of Chianti. Explore charming villages such as Greve in Chianti and Radda in Chianti, where time seems to stand still.

What to Eat: Bistecca alla Fiorentina, handmade pappardelle, wild boar ragu and crostini topped with chicken liver pâté.

What to Drink: Chianti Classico, Super Tuscan wines and Vin Santo served with traditional cantucci biscuits.

Siena & San Gimignano

Medieval Beauty & Iconic Landscapes

Few places capture the spirit of Tuscany quite like Siena and San Gimignano. Siena enchants with its Gothic architecture, historic traditions and magnificent Piazza del Campo, while San Gimignano's distinctive medieval towers rise dramatically above the surrounding countryside. Together with the nearby vineyards, olive groves and rolling hills of southern Tuscany, they offer some of the region's most iconic scenery and unforgettable experiences.

What to See: The magnificent Piazza del Campo, Siena Cathedral, San Gimignano's medieval towers and the breathtaking landscapes of Val d'Orcia.

What to Eat: Pici pasta, wild boar dishes, panforte and traditional Tuscan soups.

What to Drink: Brunello di Montalcino, Rosso di Montalcino and Vernaccia di San Gimignano.

Arezzo & Cortona

Authentic Tuscany Beyond the Crowds

Rich in history, culture and breathtaking scenery, Arezzo and Cortona offer a more authentic and unspoilt side of Tuscany. Cortona's elevated position provides spectacular views across the surrounding countryside, while Arezzo charms visitors with its historic squares, artistic heritage and traditional Tuscan character. Together, they provide an ideal base for discovering Tuscany at a gentler pace, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and timeless landscapes.

What to See: The medieval streets of Cortona, Arezzo's historic centre, antique markets and breathtaking views across the Valdichiana countryside.

What to Eat: Chianina beef, handmade pasta, local pecorino cheese and seasonal truffles.

What to Drink: Syrah from Cortona, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and locally produced olive oil tastings.

EVERY SEASON TELLS A DIFFERENT STORY

Tuscany through the seasons

One of the many reasons we love Tuscany is that no two visits are ever the same. From spring wildflowers and vineyard blossoms to summer festivals, autumn harvests and cosy winter celebrations, each season reveals a different side of this remarkable region. Whether you're drawn by truffle season, grape harvests, Christmas markets, wellness escapes or long lunches overlooking rolling vineyards, Tuscany offers unforgettable experiences throughout the year.

Springtime in Tuscany: As the countryside bursts into life, wildflowers blanket the hills and vineyards awaken after winter. Mild temperatures make it the perfect time for walking, sightseeing and exploring Tuscany's historic towns and villages.

Summertime in Tuscany: Long sunny days, outdoor dining and vibrant festivals bring Tuscany to life. From villa holidays and coastal escapes to evenings spent dining under the stars, summer showcases the region at its most vibrant.

Autumn in Tuscany: Harvest season transforms Tuscany into a food and wine lover's paradise. Vineyards glow with rich colours, truffles begin to appear and local festivals celebrate the region's finest produce.

Winter in Tuscany: A quieter, more authentic side of Tuscany emerges during the winter months. Discover festive markets, cosy trattorias, thermal spas and beautiful cities without the crowds.
